Did you know The Dip does Hot Dog happyhour on thursdays from 5-7pm? Definitely beats cooking at home, so a few Thursdays ago we ventured to The Dip for some good old hot dog grub.
We went on a rainy and cold Thursday night so the place was quite empty. I did spot a few other fellow food bloggers taking photos, but I'm a bit too shy to randomly say hi :)
We ordered the Lev's Dawg (smoked kosher hot dog with chipotle mayonnaise, fresh tomato salsa, grilled yellow peppers and american mustard on a steamed bun), Southern Smoke (12 hour smoked pulled pork sandwich with bbq beans, apple & cabbage slaw and spicy bbq sauce, Grilled corn (on the cob with lime mayo and chipotle salt) and hand cut fries
How was the hot dog? Frickin' Awesome. I really liked the fresh tomato salsa, gave the hot dog a really good twist. However they are a bit small so I suggest you get two if you're a big eater.
The southern smoke sandwich was great. Its actually quite big and theres so much pork and beans that when you try to eat it, everything will fall out. Messy but well worth it.
Grilled corn was nice but no where near as good as the ones from Mamasita. They were actually a bit cold. The fries were nice and crispy.
We also ordered the tacos and the beef hot dog special.
The dip also has some really cool one-day only menu items such as:
Wing Wednesdays- 6 buffalo wings for $10 on Wednesdays
Dynamite Dawgs - Chilli Dawgs on Saturdays
Definitely worth checking out :)
