Bookings recommended

Are you a bit bored of the Sydney dining scene? Do you want to try something different and add in a bit of a road trip? Well if you do, then the restaurant at the Echoes Boutique Hotel is the perfect solution for you :) Its only 1.5hours away from the Sydney CBD and a lovely way to spend a Saturday or Sunday lunch. Imagine having lunch perched over the very edge of the Jamison Valley, soaking in the peaceful surroundings, sitting back with a glass or two and not having a worry in the world.

The restaurant overlooks Echo Point Blue Mountains. Check out the view!

We arrived at early at 12:30 sharp and had some time to indulge in the atmosphere before the restaurant quickly filled up.

Everything on the menu looked so good. However we were just about to go on a three hour hike and didn't want to get a stitches, so we opted to share the Soup of the Day as a starter.

Cream of Pumpkin Soup with Smoked Salmon and Sour Cream, served with Sourdough Bread ($15)

Delicious! Smooth, creamy and perfect as a starter. The saltiness of the smoked salmon complemented the sweetness of the pumpkin really well. I loved this.

Chargrilled Angus Tenderloin, dauphinoise potato, wild mushroom jus, asparagus ($39)

T ordered this because she felt like steak (we're both massive steak lovers). Cooked nicely (maybe a bit too well for her liking, but perfect for mine haha) and had a nice smoky chargrilled aroma.

Forest mushroom risotto, duck confit, lemon marscapone ($35)

I felt like something a little lighter so opted for the mushroom risotto with duck confit. This was amazing! Wasn't really a 'light' choice but I really really enjoyed this. Its not often where both the first and second courses blow you away. Normally one is great and another is average.. but the risotto was great and the soup was also great.

The risotto was perfect and didn't taste too creamy or rich. And the duck confit was yummmmm and fell off the bone. I'm not a pasta lover but I definitely recommend this as a main.

I really really enjoyed lunch here. Thanks Echoes for the great experience :)

The Good: The BREATHTAKING views, the impeccable service and glorious food. Nothing to fault :)

The Bad: There were a few people who were turned away because they didn't have bookings, so definitely book ahead.
